“May the God of hope fill you with all joy & peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit."
Romans 15:13
Joy
Some days are easier than others.
Some days are much harder.
Yet, they're still just days.
There are:
365 days in a year (366 days in a leap-year)
7 days in a week
24 hours in a day
1,400 minutes in a day
86,400 seconds in a day
I, alone, attribute my thoughts & feelings to what transpires during a day.
The rest are just thoughts, events.
How do I choose to think? How do I choose to feel?
(In each of those 86,400 seconds in a day; the choice is mine).
I'm pretty sure I can find at least one piece of joy in at least one of those 86,400 seconds in a day.
I choose to fill my heart with thoughts & feelings that honor God on my faith journey.
I choose gratitude & joy!
The rest I'm returning to sender.
(with grace of course).

Joy originates from the Greek word ‘Chara’ (pronounced khar-ah).
Chara describes people who rejoice, who are glad, & who’ve received joy.
Joy is a primary theme threaded throughout the Bible.
Yet - biblical joy is different than our sinful, fallen, human definition of joy.
We can be joyful in the good times & the not so good times.
It's a conviction we embrace because of our hope & obedience in God's love & promise.
In fact - God commands us to be obedient to rejoice in Him.
God does not promise a life without suffering nor sorrow.
But - God does promise joy.
Joy is possible – anything is possible with God!
Joy is something that God has - He is the source of all joy.
It’s a gift God gives freely to all His children.
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace ...”
Galatians 5:22-23
The Holy Spirit gives you God’s glorious joy.
My prayer is that you’ll receive & embrace the wonderous gift God has given to you.
Joy!
